Grace to you and peace ~
This past Sunday (September 27) you heard Pr. Charlie and Marty Jenkins mention something about a Congregational Vitality Survey.
Vitality is good, right? And getting input is good too, right (that’s the “survey” part)?
Here’s the hope (and we need everyone to take part – as we begin to take the next steps in “strategic planning”): This survey will help us build on what we do well so that we continue to intentionally grow in fulfilling our mission to live and love like Jesus, by eagerly welcoming all and striving to bring healing, help and hope to the world. It will also help us understand where there are opportunities to grow.
The survey looks at three areas (or relationships):
1 – our relationship with God
2 – our relationship with each other within the congregations
3 – our relationship with the community beyond us
The survey was developed by the ELCA, and Pr. Charlie is certified by the ELCA to coach Living Saviour through the process. The 36-question “on-line” survey will be available over a two-week period, October 11-25, and can be completed at home. We will also have computers available at church as well as “assistants” for folks who may need help navigating the survey-taking process.
Once the survey has been administered, a team representing a cross-section of LSLC will work with Pr. Charlie to analyze the results, which will then be shared with the council and the congregation.
THEN, a team will begin to develop strategic goals for LSLC that build on our unique strengths (or gifts) and grow areas that may need strengthening – all for the sake of the world God so loves. Some of the goals will be easily attainable and others may take a bit longer.
WHEW! I know that’s a lot. For now, plan to participate in the survey…Because here’s the thing, God is moving in this place and the work that we do is VITAL as we strive to bring healing, help and hope to the world. And it is VITAL that we get your input.
Stay tuned ~
God’s peace and blessings ~
