Living Saviour Lutheran Church has established a ministry for Health and Wholeness that seeks to connect faith and health. Through a process of education about health and spiritual practices, the ministry seeks to integrate the whole person.
This wholeness flows from humanity to our good creation as well. The ministry seeks to integrate how we care for the earth and its inhabitants, plant, animal, and human, while encouraging those practices which focus on a healthy environment to promote a healthy humanity.

Focus for October 2025 is Comfort Through Grief and Loss
Tip #1 – Grief is a natural response to loss of someone or something. Any loss can cause grief. The pain of grief can disrupt your physical and mental health, making it difficult to sleep, eat or think clearly. There are healthy ways to cope with the pain of loss and to eventually move on with your life. Allow yourself time to grieve and be patient with yourself. Allow the process to naturally unfold.
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.
Tip #2 – Acknowledge the pain from your loss. Accept that grief can trigger many different and unexpected emotions and none of them are wrong. Understand that your grieving process will be unique to you. Eventually you will come to terms with your grief, and your feelings of loss and sadness will be less intense.
1 Peter 5-7 Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Tip #3 – Seek out face-to-face support from people who care about you. Friends often want to help but are unsure of what you need. Allow others to help you. Talking things out and sharing memories can help you to heal.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Tip #4 – Support yourself emotionally in your grief by taking care of yourself physically. Allow yourself to enjoy a walk in nature alone or with a friend. Eat nourishing foods. Relax with a good book or music or prayerful meditation before bedtime to encourage good sleep. Recognize the difference between grief and depression. Seek medical help for unresolved anxiety and feelings of hopelessness.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
