Sunday School at 9:30 am
ur church family offers a warm and friendly environment in which people can feel the Holy Spirit moving. Our worship liturgies come from the Lutheran tradition and change seasonally. Children are always welcome at worship and childcare is also available in our nursery.
The entrance to the Worship and Ministry Centers is located at the front of the property facing Carmel Road. As you arrive for worship, you will be welcomed by a greeter. If you require any special assistance or have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask the greeter or an usher.
8:30 Casual Worship
Our 8:30 worship is a less formal service, 50 minutes in length, with musical accompaniment by piano, guitar, and other instruments; leaders dressed in street clothes, saving formal vestments for the 10:30 service. The worship is shaped by the Lutheran liturgy, while using contemporary scripture, prayers, and worship words, as well as contemporary songs. We offer Holy Communion each week by intinction using bread and common cup. This service uses projection to show images, songs, and worship elements. If you are looking for something less formal and earlier in the day, this might be for you.
10:30 Traditional Worship
Our 10:30 service of worship is formal, with robed choir, as well as pastor and music minister in full vestments. We follow the more traditional order of Lutheran worship, and most hymns from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book. This service feels very familiar to those of a liturgical background. We offer Holy Communion each week, using wafers and either individual cup or common cup of wine.
Childcare is available for preschoolers during the worship services. It is conveniently located downstairs in the Ministry Center. An usher or greeter can direct you. If you would prefer having your children with you in worship, you are welcome to do so!
A special Kid’s Corner in the sanctuary features a toddler-size table and chairs, books and coloring sheets for quiet activity to allow families to have children with them while they are engaged in listening and watching worship
Each Sunday, we celebrate Holy Communion. We extend the invitation to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion to all baptized Christians. Grape juice and gluten-free wafers are available at each service, as well as common cup and either bread or wafers. Those who do not wish to receive Holy Communion may come forward for a blessing. When families are ready for their child to receive the gift of bread and wine, we offer a formal once yearly class in the late winter or individualized instruction with the pastor.
Sunday School Classes meet from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. each Sunday. There are classes for children ages two-and-a-half through high school and we have two classes for adults. Childcare is available during the Sunday School session (for children age 2 and younger).
